    FiveStars, a loyalty program for local retailers, has raised $13.9 million in a first round of funding.

    The Mountain View, Calif., company is trying to eliminate the need for loyalty punch cards in a very low-tech way — in other words, no fancy iPads or mobile applications.

    Investors in the round include Lightspeed Venture Partners and DCM. Other investors include Y Combinator, Mayfield Fund, and angel investors Chamath Palihapitiya and brothers Hadi and Ali Partovi.

    Zenprise(R), Inc., an innovator in mobile device management (MDM), today announced it received an excellent satisfaction score, indicating customers are likely to recommend Zenprise to friends and colleagues. Zenprise achieved a net promoter score of +60, well above the average net promoter score that ranges from +5 to +10.

    The net promoter score, a standard measurement of customer loyalty developed by Fred Reichfeld of Bain & Company and Satmetrix, is calculated by surveying customers regarding their likelihood of recommending a company to others. The score can range from -100 to +100.

  • The 8th Confirmit Annual MR Software Survey Highlights 'Shocking Complacency' for Mobile Surveys | 62% of respondents have no mobile survey policy or don't modify surveys for mobile users

    Confirmit, the leading global software provider for Customer Experience, Employee Engagement and Market Research today announced the results of its 8th Annual MR Software Survey. The most shocking result was that relatively few MR companies are taking an active approach to cater for survey takers using smartphones or tablets for surveys. 62% of respondents either do not have a policy for web surveys that land on mobile screens or they don't modify surveys to be seen on small screens. With 7% of the sample excluding mobile respondents completely, only 1 in 7 respondents actually adjust their online surveys to make them more appropriate for mobile devices.
